Seismic processing

CJSC MiMGO processing centre  is based on a server cluster and high-performance storage systems, representing one of the most powerful specialised processing centres in Russia.

The processing centre software  consists of software packs from industry-leading developers. We use software from domestic developers. The integration of software technologies ensures more efficient processing for any task, including non-standard one.

The company's highly qualified specialists have considerable expertise in 2D/3D seismic data processing offshore, onshore and in transition zones in various seismic conditions both in the Russian Federation and abroad.

A key feature of CJSC MiMGO seismic data processing is its geological focus. Sequence, procedures performance and settings are selected by means of special software to evaluate the quality of seismic data and procedures performance, as well as by analysing the efficiency and adequacy of the calculations within a multistage quality control of the processing output (processing interpretation support). The processing interpretation support includes the analysis of the wavefield, seismic attributes, waveform based on 1D seismic modeling, distribution amplitude/depth, etc., at key processing stages.

A required work scope includes studies to account for the influence of velocity inhomogeneities of the near-surface model based on the CDP-3D refraction wave method data, a tomographic approach supported by all the available a priori data, including refraction wave method, uphole survey data, contributing not only to higher accuracy, but also reliability of contour mapping.

A full range of data processing with amplitude ratio recovery (ARR) is performed. Advanced noise attenuation algorithms for coherent and random noise are used in different sortings. Deabsorption and deconvolution are performed in order to restore the waveform and enhance the recording resolution. Advanced solutions for picking modeling, interactive and automatic velocity adjustment as well as statics correction help to achieve phase coincidence of the CMP hodographs, resulting in high quality data stacking. Applying 3D to 5D regularization helps to eliminate survey and migration artefacts.

All seismic surveys are processed. Including azimuth processing of wide-azimuth data resulting in HTI anisotropy attributes. Extensive experience has been acquired in correlating and co-processing 2D and integrated 3D survey data obtained in different years from different sources, recording systems and techniques.

Depending on the wavefield complexity, CJSC MiMGO applies time and various pre-stack depth migration algorithms (Kirchhoff, Gaussian beam, RTM) for the correct mapping of the target sedimentary complexes. For depth works, both analysis and justification of the migration type is carried out, as well as the creation of a valid anisotropic VDM in cooperation with the interpretation team.

For special processing assignments and in case of implementing new technologies, CJSC MiMGO cooperates with subject matter experts from software companies. Experts' participation can be either in-person or remote.
