CJSC MiMGO carries out R&D in geosteering, including geosteering of directional and horizontal wells aiming at the precise drill bit positioning while drilling.
The methodology for real-time geosteering was developed by CJSC MiMGO experts and applies a combination of cuttings analysis, gamma-ray logging and mud logging data while drilling. This technique is cost-effective, reducing logging while drilling expenses, and ensures enhanced accuracy of horizontal borehole section drilling in the target zone.
The applied method is based on "real time" cuttings analysis; combined with geophysical logging and mud logging, it allows a high level of accuracy while positioning the bit in the target interval, and provides a comprehensive geological description of the rocks at the bottomhole area. Cuttings analysis data reduce expenses associated with expensive logging while drilling, yet are based on more reliable direct geological evidence.
